Wordia is a cross between Wikipedia and YouTube: a combination sounding board and resource bank where individuals can upload their own camcorder definitions of words. The best inevitably drift into autobiography. Among the highlights cached to date is Quentin Blake defining ‘illustration’ and Gail Porter describing her take on the word ‘immutable’. At present it lacks educational credibility thanks to some brickbats in the media – but on the plus side the site has the financial backing of Bebo-founder Michael Birch, and may come of age in 2009.

Terrific idea but underpopulated at present.
I searched for several words – many of the tags/categories (don’t know the difference!) I use in this blog – and none appeared. I suppose I should make some myself. One day.
